个人简历
1997年获美国北卡罗莱纳大学分子生物学和遗传学博士学位,随后在普林斯顿大学做博士后\r1999年开始在美国哥伦比亚大学任教。尹玉新教授长期从事肿瘤发生机理的研究,主要关注抑癌基因p53和PTEN在细胞周期调控、细胞凋亡和基因组稳定性中发挥的作用\r1992年他首次报道p53能够控制人类基因组的稳定性,并证明这一功能是通过其对细胞周期的调控达成的\r1998年他发现了p53指导细胞对环境压力反应的机理\r2003年他的研究团队首次揭示出p53下游组织特异性靶基因PAC1,从而在p53和MAP激酶通路之间建立联系。他们还发现RAD9是一个转录因子并且能调控p21以及与细胞周期检验点和胚胎发生相关的其它基因\r2007年尹玉新课题组发现PTEN是维持染色体功能和结构的柱石,失去PTEN会导致染色体分裂异常和紊乱,从而导致肿瘤发生。他们还首创了条件性PTEN knock-in小鼠模型,用来深入研究PTEN的抗癌机理\r2008年回国后着重探索PTEN在调控有丝分裂中的新功能\r2009年申请得到科技部“973”和国家重大科学研究计划项目并被聘为首席科学家。同年他还获批国家自然科学基金重点项目和北京市自然科学基金重大项目\r2010年他主持成立了北京大学系统生物医学研究所研究领域
