简历
1945年3月出生，祖籍山东烟台。1969毕业于北京师范大学生物化学专业。1972-2010在北京科技大学（原北京钢铁学院）工作。历任助教、讲师、副研究员、研究员，博士研究生导师。1987-1988年在澳大利亚卧龙港大学冶金与材料系进行冶金考古合作研究。
从1974年8月开始从事科学技术史研究，是北京科技大学冶金与材料史研究所创始人之一。曾任该研究所副所长、所长，北京科技大学科学技术与文明中心学术委员会主任。现任该中心理事会理事。获国务院颁发的政府特殊津贴。

研究领域

冶金与材料史。重点从事中国早期铜器、商周青铜器、铜鼓、铜镜、响铜及其它铜合金的金相学和电子显微仪器分析与研究，以及青铜器焊接、表面镀锡、铜器锈蚀、黑漆古形成、黄铜表面着色等机理研究
