1957年出生，研究员，博士生导师，党委书记兼副所长。1981年毕业于武汉师范学院(湖北大学)生物系，同年留校任教；1991年师从饶钦止研究员和黎尚豪院士，获中国科学院水生生物研究所理学博士学位；1993-1995年到以色列本古里安大学做博士后
