Human existence and reproduction depends on a sustainable food supply. Research on the mechanisms underlying the interaction between nitrogen-fixing bacteria and host plants will promote agricultural improvements. The symbiosis between rhizobia and leguminous plants is the most important among various beneficial interactions. The formation of nitrogen-fixing nodules can be divided into several developmental stages and is regulated by elaborate signal communications between rhizobia and plants. Current research in our laboratory is focused on: 1. Biological functions of the bacterial type 3 effectors within host cells 2. Characterization of genes involved in the hydrolysis of Nodulation Factors 3. Symbiotic functions of Exo-oligosaccharides 4. The life cycle of Rhizobia 5. Relationship between soil bacteria and plant diversity近期论文
