个人简历


ZXG is a joint-faculty Professor of Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hong Kong, and an Honorary Professor at University College London (UCL). He was Professor of Chemistry at UCL (2007-18), and prior to this, a Lecturer (1995-98), Reader (1998-99) and Professor (2000-07) at Queen Mary, University of London. He was a research fellow at the University of Oxford (1990-95), and of Strathclyde (1988-90), respectively, with a PhD and an MRes from the Univ. of Manchester in 1988 and 1984, and a BEng in Materials Science form Northeastern University/China in 1983, respectively. Prof. Guo’s group focuses on integrated theoretical and experimental approaches for the design and development of highly functional atomic clusters, nanostructures and materials, as well as their synthesis and manufacturing processes. Particular materials systems include molecules, 2D structures / graphene, metal and ceramic nanostructures, and structural alloys and composites. Fundamental theories are coupled with ab initio, molecular dynamics, cellular automata and finite element simulations for materials discovery, while selected materials are harnessed by polymerisation, sol-gel, mechano-chemical / mechano-electrorheological exfoliation, P/CVD/Atomic-Layer functionalization, co-precipitation, self-assembly, 2D/3D printing and molecular architecturing.\r
