Ourfocusisunderstandingdynamicsofexcitedstatesincondensedphasesystems.Weareparticularlyinterestedinexcitonicinteractionsinlow-dimensionalandnanoscalesystemsincludingcolloidalII-VIsemiconductornanocrystalquantumdots,graphenequantumdots,andlayeredmaterials.Wealsoexploitthesensitivityofsecond-ordernonlinearopticalprocessestothebreakingofinversionsymmetrytoprobesystemswherebulkinversionsymmetryisbrokenasatthesurfacesofinversionsymmetricmaterials.
