AndreRosendoreceivedhisB.EnginMechanicalEngineeringatUFBA,Brazil,andhisM.Sc.andPh.D.inInformationScienceatHokkaidoUniversity(2011)andOsakaUniversity(2014)underthefullyfundedMEXTscholarship.HewasapostdoctoralresearcherattheUniversityofCambridgefrom2015until2017,andiscurrentlyanAssistantProfessorandDirectoroftheLivingMachinesLaboratoryandreceiverofthe国家自然科学基金2019Grantandthe青年东方2019Award.Hisresearchinterestsarerelatedtoevolutionaryrobotics,softmanipulationandroboticlocomotion.Robotsareincreasinglypresentinourlives,andtheymustbesafetointeractwithhumanswhilealsobeingcapableofadaptingtoourworld.Andre'sresearchcombineswalkingrobotscapableofintelligentlycreatingthemselves,withsafehumans/environmentinteractionsthroughsoftmaterials.HisresearchoutputwasrecognizedbyonespecialwithDiscoveryChannel,twoIEEESpectrumarticles(hereandhere),andonlinearticles(ENG,CHI).Hehaspublishedmorethan30scientificpapersinmorethan10IEEEconferences,wasaprogramcommitteeforMOD2017,akeynotespeakerforICINCO2017,andcurrentlyholdsanErdosnumberof5.HeisanAssociateEditorfortheIEEEICORR2019andwasaGuestEditorfortheIEEERoboticsandAutomationMagazineandarefereeforScienceRobotics,IEEETransactionsonRobotics,IEEETrans.onMechatronics,IEEEIntl.Conf.onIntelligentRobotsandSystems,andIEEEIntl.Conf.onAutomationandRobotics研究领域
