1998年9月至12月在德国哥廷根大学（Georg-August-University Goettingen）化学系完成硕士学位等价认证考试；1999年1月至2002年6月在哥廷根大学化学系攻读博士，获自然科学博士学位（Dr. rer.nat.）；2002年7月至12月在该大学从事博士后研究工作；2003年1月至2004年3月在德国马普煤炭研究所（Max-Planck Institute of Coal Research）从事博士后研究；2004年4月起被江南大学聘为教授；2007年-2013年任化学与材料工程学院副院长。
