1982年于合肥工业大学地质系地质专业本科毕业；
1984年于合肥工业大学地质系构造地质专业获硕士学位；
1984年9月-1990年2月在合肥工业大学资源与环境科学系任助教、讲师；
1990年3月-1992年7月赴英国威尔士大学攻读博士学位，获构造地质专业哲学博士；
1992年11月至今在合肥工业大学资源与环境工程学院任副教授、教授、博士生导师；
000年享受国家政府津沾。
教学工作
本科生课程：《区域大地构造》；
研究生课程：《显微构造学》、《构造变形分析》、《断裂构造学》。
科研工作
主持的在研项目：

研究领域

长期从事中国东部巨型的郯庐断裂带研究，涉及该断裂带起源、走滑和伸展、新构造运动、地震活动、旁侧盆地构造等多方面。
近年来开展了郯庐断裂带活动与华北克拉通破坏、与大别—苏鲁造山带造山过程与西太平洋俯冲等动力学关联的研究。还对中国东部变质核杂岩与伸展穹窿开展了深入的研究，探讨了晚中生代伸展活动时上地壳与中地壳的变形规律，分析了伸展变形机制与动力学背景。""
