约瑟夫.格雷戈里.马奥尼（Josef Gregory Mahoney）博士，复旦大学当代中国研究中心特聘研究员，华东师范大学政治学系副教授。执教华东师范大学西方马克思主义专题研讨班，研究成果已在国内外著名学术刊物上发表。Josef Gregory Mahoney, Associate Professor of Politics, East China Normal University (ECNU); Senior Researcher, Central Compilation and Translation Bureau (CCTB) under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China; Research Fellow with the Center for the Study of Contemporary China under the Institute for Advanced Studies at Fudan University; Assistant Editor of the US-basedJournal of Chinese Political Science, and Editor of theFudan Journal of the Humanities and Social Sciences. One of the first westerner’s to assume a regular faculty position in politics at a Chinese university, he teaches the university seminar on Western Marxism at ECNU, as well as coursework on Chinese and Western political philosophy. His work with CCTB, a leading think-tank in Beijing, has included both research and translation, with substantial contributions to the English translations of Jiang Zemin’sSelected Works, Vols. II-III, as well as Premier Wen Jiabao’s annual work reports presented to the National People’s Congresses of 2011 and 2012. Research publications have appeared in leading Chinese, CSSCI journals, includingMarxism and Reality,Foreign Theoretical Trends,Chinese Translators, theJournal of Studies in Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory, and others. Publications in English have appeared in journals includingScience & Society,Rethinking Marxism,Journal of Chinese Political Studies, and others. He has presented at major conferences and given guest lectures in the United States, China, Singapore, Cuba, the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Germany. He has held previous teaching posts at George Washington University, the University of Maryland, College Park, and others, and served as a dissertation director at Peking University’s School of Marxism. His training includes a BA, MPhil, and PhD from George Washington University and an MSPH and MPA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He lives with his family in Shanghai’s Putuo District.
